I am making my own personalized 埃维 聚醚砜 board. PECS stands for Picture Exchange Communication System. It is very useful for helping nonverbal people to communicate.

埃维 has 匹配 通讯 图书 made of 聚醚砜 pictures 在 学校 and 在 home. But when it comes time for what song she wants to be played, the field is open.

埃维's 学校 provided a Communication Book for home to match her book 在 学校. It even has pictures of each of her classmates and teachers and therapists!

埃维's song 菜单 choices in her 学校 通讯 book. Note the dinosaur sticker I added because there was no choice for "We Are the Dinosaurs" by 劳里·伯克纳（Laurie Berkner）.

In preparation, I googled each song that 埃维 liked and found an image that she would recognize for each song. I saved them all to a folder, and then opened the template in Word and inserted a picture in each square.

I started 母亲hood determined not to let 埃维 have too much 检测时间. I would say that still 应用程式lies for TV, but I am now convinced that the iPad is a great tool for 埃维's learning. She is, after all, a child of the 未来! As technology gets used more and more, especially with assisted learning, I see it as an advantage for 埃维 to already know how to use an iPad.

Peekaboo Farm: When 埃维 first started looking 在 this 应用程式, she didn't understand that she should hit the screen to see the animals. Now she understands Cause and Effect, and gets rewarded by a cow 应用程式earing and mooing 在 her. This is not to be confused with Peekaboo Kids (instead of Farm), which isn't bad, but 表演 certain animals answering nature's call and then cackling, if you're offended by that.

Peekaboo Fridge: A variant of Peekaboo Farm, but just as good. If we are teaching her about food, then why not? They also have Peekaboo 圣诞, Peekaboo Halloween, and Peekaboo Forest. I personally don't like the Halloween and Forest versions.

Smart Rattle: This is not a high tech game. But it's riveting somehow. Every 20 seconds, the scene changes and objects like farm animals, cars, ocean life, etc float across the screen and make noises or spin around if the baby touches the screen. Evie could stare 在 it for hours. You can shake your phone and make the animals shake around too. She has great coordination with holding an iPhone (of course).

Leapfrog Toddler Rhythms: 埃维 爱s 音乐, and she 爱s this 应用程式. She can sit with this 应用程式 (just staring and listening) for an hour if I let her.

Baby Sign: 埃维 likes watching the baby sign words, and we learn 婴儿手语 slowly. Very slowly. With nice splotches of drool on my iPad screen.

Giggle Gang: Somehow these little fuzzy circle people who sing when you tap on them make 埃维 mesmerized. There's a piano keyboard on it too. Good 因果.
